Okay, here's the stuff that you will need:
* 4 planks (as thin as possible but thick enough to nail them together)
* a large piece of cardboard
* 2 saws, a thick one and a smaller one
* hammer'n'nails
* wood glue (nails work just as good but with less mess)
Note: the thickness of the big saw must be the same as the thickness of your cardboard! I prefer 2 or 3 mm.
Step one.

Side planks: they have to be around 12,5 cm. wide, it's the size of a DVD plus some space to make then stick out of the stand. You can choose the length yourself, it depends on how much DVDs you prefer to store in one.
Top/bottom plank: I made them 22,5 cm. long with the same 12,5 cm. width as the wall planks
Cardboard: you'll have to cut it at the very end, when the 4 planks are nailed together

Step two.

The tricky part. Using the big saw you will have to cut horizontal lines in to the side planks with a space of 2 cm. between them (it's the thickness of a DVD box) so it would look like this in the end:

----|----|----|----|----|---- <-
----|----|----|----|----|---- <-
----|----|----|----|----|---- <-plank
cut^

Now repeat the same with the second wall plank.
The thickness of the cut should be like 1/3 of the thickness of the side plank

Step three.

Now take your cardboard and usind the small saw cut it into small stripes,as much stripes as the number of cuts in the side walls. The length of the stripe must be the same 12,5 cm. as the width of your side plank. The width of the stripe can vary from 1 to 1,5 cm., it doesn't really matter.

Last step...
Now slide those cardboard stripes into the cuts you have made, use a little bit of wood glue if the cuts are wider as your cardboard thickness. Glue or nail the back of the stand, use cardboard to do it...

P.S. if you have questions please ask (IMG:http://www.aacovers.net/ipb/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Well, I prefer my purchased stand that I got custom-made but still only goes to show the involvement of the community and it's eagerness to share the experiences and expertise.

Great stuff!!!!
